Greenshade Mixture
Produces an excellent turf under shaded conditions. Contains, chewings & slender creeping red fescues, rough-stalked meadow grass. Suitable for rotary mowers.
This is a non-ryegrass mixture for damp, shaded conditions. It is a top quality mixture designed to produce excellent turf. The rough-stalked meadow grass germinates quickly, providing lush green growth all year round. To help ensure perfect turf, feed regularly with our six-month Nutralawn Micro fertilisers. Do not mow below 2.5cm (1 inch) in height, and if subject to low light levels increase the cutting height further.

- Damian FeredayJul 30, 2020, 09:43Again another mix that seems to have significantly changed in the last 36 months to the inclusion of cheap rough stalked meadow grass now making up 25% and possibly significant reduction in bent...... the difference being surface rhizomes in meadow grass rather than underground in bent ... this would be fine under dense tree cover for example but not as part of a luxury lawn with other finer grasses that suffer from fence shade and heavier soils...
bit of an odd choice really other than to add wear resistance.Greenacres DirectAug 25, 2020, 10:13Dear Mr Fereday
Thank you for your review, over the years our grass seed mixtures change to keep up with developments within the grass breeding and changes with the climate and therefore cultivars and percentages may change slightly. We increase percentages i.e rough stalk meadow grass due to the drought qualities of this grass and the aggressive re-growth under shade.
Greenshade mix is used on a lawn that has a shade issue and is cut with a rotary mower (when cutting please raise the height as this will help with re-growth) For a luxury lawn I would recommend our Badminton Mix.
